Servant of the Night Lords Page 8
Lord Tyris opened his eyes and looked over at her. “What is it?”
Danielle moved around to stand between his legs. She knelt down and placed her hands on his thighs. Lord Tyris righted himself and looked down at her with slight alarm. “What do you think you are—”
“I... want to beg for your forgiveness, my lord. For going against your wishes.” Danielle moved a little closer. She paused for a moment, then turned her head up and fixed him with her most burning gaze. “I was a bad girl, I know that now,” she said in a low, silky voice. “I don’t wish to leave your side, but I ask that I can make it up to you.”
The dragon lord’s eyes flashed dark and he tensed. Danielle waited for him to push her away but he did not.
“Oh? And what could a human possibly do for me?”
Danielle didn’t turn her gaze from his. Slowly, she moved her hands up his thighs. She watched his eyes widen as they moved closer to his center. She got close to touching him before he grabbed her hands.
“Trying to tempt me?” His grip tightened.
Danielle swallowed and licked her lips. “I only wish to serve you. To please you, my lord.” Danielle moved closer. “I know I am just a lowly human. But I would do anything—”
“Anything?”
Danielle saw his eyes grow bright and she smiled wickedly.
No holding back now.
Danielle got close to his ear. “I would let you fuck me right here, right now. Don’t you want to know what I feel like?“
She heard the dragon lord inhale sharply.
“I would worship you. I would scream your name. I would beg you to never stop.” Danielle laid the side of her head on his thigh and looked up at him with another burning stare. “I would deny you nothing, my lord. Please say you will forgive me.”
Lord Tyris looked down on her in utter disbelief. His eyes flitted over to the last few people lounging about the hall along with a handful of guards. His hands curled into fists at his side.
“Guards,” he called out. “Get everyone out. Now.”
The guards looked at him then down at Danielle, only hesitating for a second. They gathered the rest of the people and lead them out of the hall.
“You as well,” he called to the guards at the door. “You leave as well. Leave!”
The guards hurried out of the hall and closed the door behind them leaving Danielle and the dragon lord alone.
Danielle lifted her head from his leg. Lord Tyris watched as she moved her hands up his leg once more and took hold of his leather belt and unchained it from his pants. She untied the rest until the length of him sprang loose before her.
He was huge.
A rising heat licked up her core and lower stomach as Danielle took in the size of him.
She was forced to use two hands to stroke him. “So big…” Danielle flicked her tongue over his tip and felt the dragon lord shudder.
“Wicked human,” she heard Lord Tyris whisper. He closed his eyes as she took more of him into her mouth. Danielle saw him watching her suck him off and she could feel him hardening even more. Lord Tyris grabbed a fist of her hair and growled as she worked him. She licked down the length of him and the dragon lord lifted his head back.
“Sweet Gods,” he groaned.
When Danielle made to move her mouth down the length of him again, Lord Tyris gripped her arms and forced her to stand. He turned her around and ripped off the leather straps between her legs.
Danielle gasped as he pulled her to him.
“Filthy human…” He growled in her ear. Danielle felt his hot, fiery breath against her neck. His hand went down between her legs and Danielle felt him dip into her, she moaned and lifted her head.
Danielle spread her legs for him and bent slightly. Using the arms of the throne she lifted herself up on to his lap. Lord Tyris grabbed her thighs and, spreading them wide, slowly lead her down to him.
The tip of him touched her center then pushed in, stretching her. Danielle gritted her teeth as she felt him fill her completely until she sat against him.
“Pitiful thing,” Lord Tyris said. “Tell me how sorry you are.” The dragon lord lifted her up and slammed his cock once into her. Danielle gasped.
“Sorry, I’m so sorry,” she cried. Lord Tyris thrust hard, launching her upward.
He beat hard into her and all Danielle could do is steady herself on the arms of the throne. She looked over to the door and saw shadows moving underneath it. She wondered if the guards could hear.
Arching her back, Danielle moaned and cried out as he went into her deep. She could hear his low, guttural growls behind her.
“Impossible that a measly human could feel this good,” Lord Tyris grumbled. “Wretched creature.” He stopped only for a moment to have her turned around to face him. Danielle repositioned her legs and held on to his shoulders as he continued to thrust into her. Lord Tyris gripped her thighs and gritted his teeth, his eyes growing dark as he watched her body move against him.
His large hands went up to her thighs and to her waist. Though he thrust hard and glared at her almost angrily, he caressed her sides lovingly, his thumbs brushing at her skin.
Suddenly his eyes dropped and he looked stunned. He shook his head in disbelief and slowed his pace.
Danielle could feel the pressure building. She gripped his shoulders tighter and began to move her hips. She moved against him, slow and deep, riding him.
Lord Tyris shook his head, shocked. He gripped her rear as he watched her move. “A human is going to make me come.”
Danielle nodded her head, her face contorted into an expression of ecstasy. “Fill me, Lord Tyris. And I will shatter on top of you.”
Lord Tyris bared his fangs. He hissed and threw his head back. He slammed once more into her and Danielle felt his hot need shoot into her, his cock throbbed violently inside her. His body shook and a loud groaning roar escaped his throat.
The feel of him filling her made Danielle come as she had promised. She tightened around him and screamed, falling against him. She felt his need pour out of her as it was too much for her to hold. It spilled down his length and her legs, creating a mess. But the dragon lord didn’t seem to care. He crushed her to him as he continued to come.
Tendrils of steam wafted from his body and, when Danielle looked down at his arm, she saw sparks dancing across his skin. His whole body seemed to glow brilliantly and Danielle felt little zaps shock all along her skin.
A torrent of energy suddenly shot through her and Danielle gasped, throwing her head back as a fierce wave of spasms tore through her. She jerked and moaned, her body shaking. When the spasms faded, Danielle huffed in breathless wonder.
Lord Tyris, overcome by such intense pleasure, released Danielle and laid his head back on the chair. He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply, his body relaxing under her. Danielle watched him rest and carefully lifted herself from the length of him. His arousal fell on to his stomach, slick with wet and need. Danielle sat back on his lap and studied the electrical sparks jumping along his arms and hands. She glanced back at him, then cautiously unhooked a vial from her necklace and uncapped it. She brought the opening of the vial down to his arm and caught one of the sparks. Closing it quickly, she reattached it to her necklace.
“What are you doing?” Lord Tyris asked in a low voice. Danielle flinched and looked back at him. He was eyeing her curiously, his gaze falling to her necklace.
Danielle shrugged her shoulders and gave him a playful smile. She leaned in and kissed his neck. “I just want to remember this moment, my lord.” She pressed her body against him and was relieved to feel a soft growl, almost like a purr, escape his throat. He wrapped an arm around her and stroked a hand down her back.
Lord Tyris laughed softly. “Perhaps... humans aren’t so bad after all.”
Chapter 10
The final night had come. At high moon, Danielle was once again secured to Lord Tyris’ throne. This time she had been given a plush cushion to sit on and he
r own personal assortment of food to pick at as she so pleased. She sipped at a goblet of wine while lying on her side, watching as people entered the hall. Lord Tyris was away at the moment, but soon he would arrive along with the other Night Lords, and after, they would wait for the arrival of the princes.
Danielle found herself strangely content despite being chained to Lord Tyris’ chair. She felt stronger, more so than ever before. Though a nervous ache still tugged at her in anticipation of seeing the princes, she also grew excited at the thought of them seeing her. She imagined their looks of stunned rage as she stood at Lord Tyris’ side, alive and well.
A rustling behind the throne caught Danielle’s attention. She looked back to see someone gesturing for her to come hither. Danielle got up and looked behind the throne.
“Hydric?” Danielle looked down on the little bat man with shock. Hydric bowed and waved for her to hide with him. Danielle looked back over the hall and saw no one watching. She quickly crouched down behind the chair beside Hydric.
“What are you doing here?” she asked. She hadn’t seen the bat since she had asked him to help her.
“Come to see how you’ve been fairing,” responded Hydric. “I’ve heard rumors you grew close to the Night Lords. Were you able to acquire any of the energies you needed from them?”
Danielle nodded. “Yes, all of them.”
Hydric’s eyes widened. “All of them? Even from Lord Tyris?”
Danielle smiled and nodded her head.
Hydric sat back astonished. “By the dark gods. That’s’ quite an accomplishment for a human.”
Danielle shrugged. “I had the help I needed. Thank you again, Hydric,” she said lifting up a bit of her necklace.
“And I thank you. The key orb’s recipe has given me the ability to experiment in making other fascinating devices.” Hydric took out a small crystal in the shape of a star. “Though I wasn’t able to gain the energies of the Night Lords like yourself, I was able to steal a few off some more powerful nobles. And, in turn, made this.” He lifted the star up and it glowed white.
“What is it?” Danielle asked.
“A key, similar to the orb. Though it isn‘t powerful enough to transport anyone to your world. It can transport someone anywhere within the Nightlands.”
“That’s amazing,” said Danielle.
Hydric took hold of Danielle’s hand and placed the key star in her palm. “It is yours.”
“Oh! Hydric, you don’t have to—”
Hydric silenced her with a wave of his hand. “I insist, girl. Something tells me you’ll need it. And besides, I have written down how to make it again. A little more sneaking around and it won’t be too hard to make another.” He winked at her.
Danielle grasped the key star in her hand. “Thank you, Hydric.”
Hydric nodded and took the star. Using a bit of Magik, he linked the star to her necklace letting it hang in the center around the dark vials. “So you won’t lose it,” he said. “All you have to do is imagine a place you want to go within the Nightlands and squeeze.”
“Got it.” Danielle smiled and began to stand. Hydric caught her arm before she righted herself.
“There is one more thing I’m afraid. I didn’t come with only good news.” Hydric gently pulled her closer. “You understand that you only have half the ingredients needed. You will have to face the princes if you wish to acquire the others.”
“Yes.” Danielle nodded. “I know.”
“It will be much harder to get the energies from them. They are not as easily swayed like the Night Lords. They can be ruthless.”
Danielle gazed at him and pursed her lips. “I know.”
“And there’s one last thing,” Hydric said. “Something I forgot to mention about the key orb. The recipe is meant to create an exact copy like the original. But the original was... well... faulty.”
“Faulty?” Danielle raised her eyebrows.
“Prince Morgin would be too proud and arrogant to admit it but the key orb, once made, wasn’t perfectly stable. The power within wasn’t completely under control. Which is why when Prince Morgin made to use it to communicate with your kind he instead found that it had disappeared into your world. Once someone found the key and used it, they got transported back here and, before they could use it again, the key would vanish. This happened every time, which is why humans could come into our world, but the orb would be gone before a Nightkin could come into theirs.”
“So as soon as I make it... it will be broken,” Danielle said.
“Yes,” Hydric said sadly. “But, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to use it. Prince Morgin didn’t use the key orb right away when it was first made. Only when he was ready to use it did he find it gone. My theory is, if you use it as soon as it is assembled, you should be able to escape. But you only have one chance.”
Danielle frowned and nodded. “One chance... got it.”
“If you fail,” Hydric pointed to the key star, “then use that to get as far away as you can.”
***
Once Hydric left, Danielle returned to her position at the throne. Not long after, Lord Tyris and the other Night Lords entered the great hall along with the guards, servants, and noble people of the Onyx Pass. There were no festivities tonight. The people lined the hall on each side and the Night Lords stepped upon the stage to stand on either side of Lord Tyris.
Danielle caught the eyes of each Night Lord as they took their position; disappointment and longing flashed over their expressions as they observed her beside the throne. The guards placed themselves at every entryway and corner of the great hall and the servants stood silent and hidden at the back walls. Danielle studied the faces of the crowd and saw a grand mixture of terror and excitement as they waited for the prince’s arrival.
Just as Lord Tyris sat back on his throne, Captain Bohren entered the hall. He walked down its length, stopped in front of the Night Lords and bowed.
“My lords, the princes are at the front gate,” Bohren said.
Lord Tyris nodded. “Let them in.”
Bohren bowed once again and left them to accompany the princes into the mountain.
Danielle shifted on her cushion next to Lord Tyris’ throne. Her heart raced and her throat tightened as the realization of seeing the princes again brought out fresh fear that had been lying dormant until now. It was like she was the scared little girl running through the desert all over again, waiting for the princes to catch her. She shivered slightly then looked up at Lord Tyris. His eyes shifted down to hers and seemed to notice her sudden fear. With an expression of concern, he gestured for her to stand before him.
“Come, sit on my lap, girl, and I will protect you from them.” Lord Tyris chuckled. Danielle did as told and secured herself against him.
The crowd stirred as the doors opened. First came the palace soldiers, armored in dark silver with the emblem of moon and stars, led by Lord Torquel. Then came a procession of a few robed servants, followed by stunning nightwomen that put the others to shame, dressed in slips of cloth that sparkled like the stars. Small creatures followed them and Danielle recognized a few she had encountered from the palace, including the gremlins.
Then the princes entered.
At first, Danielle didn’t recognize them. Before, they had looked near savage, animalistic. Though they still had their beastly features, they now looked regal, almost ethereal. They even seemed larger; more fierce and commanding. They no longer wore the robes, but an elegant mixture of armor and clothing that fit them perfectly. Gems of purple and blue, gold and silver sparkled off them in the firelight. They looked every bit like the royalty they were.
Danielle saw the crowd gaze on them with awe and fear, shifting back to give them space. She too watched them stunned, tensing on Lord Tyris’ lap, as they approached the stage. Their soldiers and servants parted and lined up on each side to let them pass. It wasn’t until they were much closer that Danielle realized they each wore intricate masks.
> Prince Cyre—the crow prince—wore his usual silvery mask. Prince Sethris wore the mask of a bat with long fangs. Prince Ferien wore a mask that reminded Danielle of a shark. Prince Xaris—the great spider—wore a black mask that was intricately wired to look like webs. And Prince Morgin wore a white-gold mask of a creature that looked like a cross between a dragon and a cat.
They each stood before the Night Lords, looking up at them with bright, cold eyes. They seemed to watch them with interest. Then their eyes shifted over to Lord Tyris and to Danielle on his lap. Danielle nearly flinched and looked away. Though their faces were hidden by masks, there was no indication in their eyes—or sign in the movement of their bodies—that showed a single bit of rage or shock at seeing her. They looked on her with cold, calculated indifference.
They stood silent for a moment, then Prince Morgin took a step forward.
“My brothers and I thank you for taking such care of our lands for so long. We are truly grateful.” Prince Morgin gestured to the hall around them. “But, as you can see, we are very capable of ruling our lands by ourselves. You may step down from your duties as rulers and prostrate yourselves before us now and we will consider letting you go free. Maybe even give your old positions back if you ask nicely.”
The crowds turned to whisper and the Night Lords shifted uncomfortably, some hissing and baring their fangs. Lord Tyris growled low, his hands curling into fists.
“You always were a difficult bastard to negotiate with,” Lord Tyris said.
Prince Sethris stepped forward as if ready to rip at him when Prince Morgin put up his hand to stop him. He gazed up at Lord Tyris with amusement in his eyes.
“Don’t push your luck attempting to fight us, Tyris. We might have been imprisoned, but our strength is still what it was long ago,” said Prince Morgin.
“And ours has only grown stronger,” Said Lord Tyris. “Many things have changed since you have been imprisoned.”
“Ah, yes, I see.” Prince Morgin walked beside the stage, peering at each of the Night Lords. “You have grown more powerful, haven’t you? How long did that take though, I wonder? And you certainly have gained quite an audience.” He walked back over to stand right before the throne. “And I see even your taste in women as changed.” Prince Morgin’s eyes flitted down to Danielle and held her. “I wouldn’t have guessed you the type to lie with something so weak. But humans are a rare sort around here aren’t they?” Prince Morgin moved a little closer and Danielle straightened. “And I hear they make lovely little pets.”
